Ansys Mechanical is the structural analysis environment inside Workbench. It lets you study how a component reacts to the loads acting on it: stresses and deformations, thermal effects, vibration and modal response, and coupled problems such as thermo-electric or magnetostatic analysis.
A study always follows the same sequence: build or import the geometry, mesh it, assign the material, apply the supports and the loads, solve, and finally read the results.
The interface is organised as a tree. Each branch holds one stage of the setup (geometry, connections, mesh, boundary conditions, solution) and selecting a branch opens its properties in the panel below, where you enter the values for that stage.
